On Friday, youth in Bulenga, a community in the Wa East District, began repairing roads connecting the community to other communities.
They lamented that the deplorable condition of the road network has a negative impact on economic activities.
During the program, Mr. Abdulia Godi Haki, a young man, told Info Radio that the road had been awarded on contract, but the contract was out of the site for unexplained reasons.
During the inclement season, they cannot access the Wa market with their agricultural products, he lamented.
He noted that the surrounding communities are extensively involved in okra, yam, and corn farming.
As the rains approach, he added, if the roads are not repaired, they will become a death hazard for commuters. The youth stated that the task is not partisan.
They reported that the DCE, Mr. Suleman Edwurah Mahama Kandi, had indicated that he would raise funds for the road's construction.
However, the adolescent appealed to the Wa East District Chief Executive and Member of Parliament for assistance in regaining the contract.
