Angry Haruna Iddrisu Supporters Storm Radio To Attack NDC Deputy National Secretary

Some supporters of Haruna Iddrisu have attacked a Deputy National General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mustapha Gbande, in Tamale in the Northern Region

The assault reportedly happened after a radio interview on Radio Tamale, a Tamale-based radio station on Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

The supporters who are already incensed following the removal of Haruna Iddrisu as Minority Leader got more infuriated after Mustapha Gbande sought to justify the decision on air.

Mr. Gbande during the interview indicated that the decision taken by the party is in the interest and collective good of the party.

He called on all party supporters to have confidence in the leadership when it comes to decision-making and rally behind them.

But the supporters who were not happy with his explanation besieged the station to assault him while the discussion was still ongoing but they were prevented.

He was later physically attacked outside the radio station studios after the programme before he was whisked away into a waiting car.

Supporters of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the Tamale South Constituency on Tuesday, January 24 massed up at the party's office in their numbers against the removal of Haruna Iddrisu as the Minority Leader of parliament.

According to them, the removal of Haruna Iddrisu as the Minority Leader will have dire consequences on the fortunes of the party in the region, and want the party's leadership to reconsider the decision.

"We are surprised they have changed Haruna Iddrisu as Minority Leader that is why we have come in our numbers to the party office. We want them to reconsider the decision immediately or face our wrath".
