Jaman South MCE Donates 1,000 dual desks to Education Directorate

The Jaman South Municipal Assembly of the Bono Region has donated 1,000 dual desks to the Education Directorate.

The donation forms part of the Assembly's efforts to deal with the furniture deficit in basic schools in the municipality.

Presenting the desks to the Education Directorate, the Municipal Chief Executive, Andrews Bediako, revealed that the donation shows the Assembly's seriousness to deal with the 8,000 furniture deficit in basic schools.

"We have a furniture deficit in most of our basic schools in the municipality and so this donation is the first step by the Assembly towards dealing with the deficit so that our pupils will get seats to sit on".

He assured that the assembly will continue to support the Directorate to ensure effective teaching and learning in the municipality.

"This donation will not be the last because we will continue to support in every regard to ensure that education in the municipality is improved upon for our children to have the best of education for a brighter future".



He charged the Directorate to ensure the proper usage of the desks.



The Municipal Education Director, John Kwame Gasu disclosed that this is the first time the Directorate has received the largest donation of furniture under him and thanked the Assembly for the gesture.



He assured that the desks will be distributed to the schools based on the needs to achieve the intended purpose.

"This donation of furniture is the largest we have received so far as a Directorate and I am assuring the Assembly that they will be distributed to schools based on our needs assessment. We are very grateful to the Assembly for this gesture".
