Biography of Ghanaian reggae musician, the Ghetto Gospelist

The Ghetto Gospelist born Joseph Akwesi Boateng is a young versatile music talent coming from the ghettos of Bubiashie a suburb in Accra.

The Ghetto Gospelist started his music career as a rapper, He was a group mate to #Ennwai formally of Dobble fame. They form a group called B4B4 and with their great talents together they find themselves in the camp of one of Ghana's legend music producers Jeff Quaye famously known as #Jay_Q. Alongside, with the likes of Guru, Nii Funny, and Co. Things didn't really work out for them under the management of Jay Q so they have to move on with their music journey, but along the line The Ghetto Gospelist said good bye to his music group mate/brother Ennwai because he had a calling to pursue Christian music.

But after some years Bra Akwesi The Ghetto Gospelistwas reinvited into the secular scene by another talented brother #Kay_Sika through a featuring but later both decided to form a musical group and chose the same group name B4B4 since that name was well known in their community when he was a group mate to Ennwai. By then Ennwai too had joined with Paa Kwasi forming the group Dobble so for him and Kay Sika choosing back the name B4B4 was very easy for them... Bra The Ghetto Gospelist Akwesi was then called #CHINGUMBODY.

They released a couple of singles that gave them some attention and opportunities that made them perform on bigger platforms alongside with the Stars like Samini Dagaati, #Screw_face, #Dobble, #Gasmila , #R2bees, etc. But due to the financial crisis, they couldn't really break through as expected...

Today The Ghetto Gospelist is back as an independent artist with a single title Destiny Changer to his credit. Currently, he is working on an EP titled LIFE AND TIME. He is ready to release the very first single from the EP titled Eshɛɔ Mɔnɔ which means time and season. This song will release first on his official YouTube page The Ghetto Gospelist
