Central Region: Teacher's Disciplinary Action Results in the Untimely Death of a 13-Year-Old Student

A heartbreaking incident has occurred at Swedru Methodist B Basic School in the Central Region, where a female teacher reportedly administered fatal punishment to a 13-year-old student, resulting in his unfortunate demise.

According to a report from UTV's correspondent in Swedru, the deceased student, Godfred Ankomah, was subjected to merciless caning by his teacher.

The teacher's anger stemmed from the students' disruptive behavior in the classroom when they should have been focused on their studies.

Seeking to address the noise issue firmly, the teacher instructed the students to submit the homework she had assigned them several days ago, which had yet to be checked.

The teacher, identified as Millicent, informed the students that she would administer cane lashes to each student based on the number of questions they had answered incorrectly in the homework she was about to evaluate.

Tragically, Godfred Ankomah, a second-year student, presented his homework, but unfortunately, he received a low score, with six questions marked as incorrect.

Millicent then instructed Godfred to bend down and receive his punishment for his six incorrect answers. In desperation, the young student pleaded with the teacher not to strike him on his back.

Regrettably, Madam Millicent disregarded his pleas and proceeded to deliver forceful strokes to Godfred's back, causing severe damage to his spinal cord, which ultimately led to his sudden death.
