Christmas Give away- Two NGOs join hands in a Clean-up exercise in Gonja.

Fun times are here, Christmas and New year is heavily knocking on our doors whiles we prepare to enjoy the tasty meals, the blissful parties and ofcousre, the wonderful get together, but elsewhere in the Savannah region of Ghana, a Non-Governmental organization in the Northern Region of Ghana with the name Youth Entrepreneurship Advocacy For Africa Development known as Yeafad in partnership with Tourism Partnerships Right Initiatives For Development Efforts also called Top-Ride, has organised and undertaken a massive clean-up exercise as a way of giving back to society.

The successfully organized and executed
Clean-up exercise was done at a community in the central Gonja of the Savannah Region of Ghana called Sankpagla on Monday the 4th of December, 2023.

The goal of this initiative was to promote and influence behavior change among traders in the local markets and among individuals and households to adopt and maintain good sanitation practices.

At the commencement of the exercise, materials such as rakes, brooms, head pans and nose marks were distributed to the team and the community members present.



Furthermore, the clean-up exercise started from the main road to the market, then from inside to the outside of the sankpagla market and lastly, the Chief's Palace where a thorough cleaning was done.




After the exercise, the two organizations, set- up a 10 member volunteer group made up of 6 men and 4 women and were heavily tasked to ensure the continuity of the project in the future, the team also handed cleaning materials to the group to enable them work effectively and efficiently without any challenge.



Addressing the volunteer cleaners and members of the community, the Chief of the community of Sankpagla, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the two organizations, Yeafad and Top-Ride for the great initiative in demonstrating to his people, the importance of sanitation and the need to uphold such standards of living.

Moreso, the chief assured the gathering that, he will continue to give the group all the needed support to help sustain the project.

Additionally, Mr. Yussif Zakaria who is the Executive Director of the Youth Entrepreneurship Advocacy For Africa Development - YEAFAD, has extended his heartfelt appreciation to Top-Ride for this great partnership,he also acknowledged the effort of the chief of Sankpagla , the Assembly man and the entire community members present for their wonderful support in ensuring the project saw the light of day.

YEAFAD has its office in Tamale, with their aims to inspire, educate and promote the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs through partnership with interested NGOs and volunteers across the globe.

Its *Motto* is to Promote Social Change Through Entrepreneurship.
YEAFAD has over the years organised many social intervention programs in the area of women & youth economic empowerment, health, nutrition, climate change, sanitation, peace, security, environment, science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
