Emperor T- Jiga and the Akwaaba Ensemble Power packed schedule for 2022-2023: ( Performances, Artiste in Residence Programs and Festivals).

Emperor T-Jiga, The Director of Akwaaba Ensemble will visit schools in New Hampshire to work with students from K-5 grade. Emperor T-Jiga will lead a multiple Artist in Residency Programs at various Schools for the 2022-2033 school year in the New Hampshire area.

1. First Artist in residency program will be at:

Great Brook Middle School in Antrim, New Hampshire on September 12th – September 16th, 2022

2. Second Artist in Residency Program will be at:

Greenfield Elementary School in Greenfield, New Hampshire on September 19th – September 23rd, 2022

3. Third Artist in Resdency Program will be at:

Simonds-Warner Elementary School in Warner, New Hampshire on September 26th – September 30th, 2022.

4. Fourth Artist in Residency Program will be at Maude H.Trefethen Elementary School in New Castle, New Hampshire on October 3rd – October 6th, 2022.

The students will learn about African Culture, language, Drumming, Music and Dance. Emperor T-Jiga will also share a story about his chilhood growing in Ghana West Africa to students and school staff.



PERFORMANCES:


Emperor T-Jiga and The Akwaaba Ensemble will participate in various festivals both community and out of state festivals.

CELEBRATED FESTIVAL:
Emperor T-Jiga and The Akwaaba Ensemble will perform a High Energy Drumming, Dancing and Music performance for the Manchester Proud Celebration MHT at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Manchester, New Hampshire on September 17th, 2022 from 11:30am – 12:30pm

MANCHESTER CITY WIDE FESTIVAL:
Emperor T-Jiga will lead a Drumming Workshop at Manchester City Wide Festival on Hanover Street, Manchester, New Hampshire on September 17th, 2022 from 4:00pm – 5:00pm

14 ANNUAL CONCORD MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL:
Emperor T-Jiga and The Akwaaba Ensemble will perform a series of rhythms, dances and songs for the 14th Annual Concord Multicultural Festival at the Keach Park in Concord, NH on Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 11:30am – 12:30pm.

SHIDAA CULTURAL PROJECTS:
Emperor T-Jiga and The Akwaaba Ensemble will perform a series of Ghanaian rhythms, dances and music as part of the Shidaa Cultural Project fundrasing event to help support up and coming cultural artist and their education. The event will take place at
First Congregational Church of Berlin, Vermont on September 24th, 2022 from 2:00pm -4:00pm.

HUNDRED NIGHTS INC.

Emperor T-jiga and the Akwaaba Ensemble will perform an energetic rhythms, dances and song from Ghana and Guinea for the Hundred Nights Inc for their staff lunch gathering in Keene, New Hampshire on October 9, 2022 from 10:30am – 11:30am.
