Northern Region: Nanton NDC Parliamentary aspirant, Nyab Adam handed over a mechanized borehole to Jegun-Kukoo community

As part of his social intervention policies to address the pressing needs of the Nanton Constituency, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Aspirant for Nanton, Mr. Alhassan Adam, affectionally called Nyab Adam on Thursday, March 23, 2023, handed over a mechanized borehole facility to the people of Jegun-Kukoo a suburb of Nanton in the Nanton District.

The project dubbed Water-Life is an initiative of the Parliamentary Aspirant which fully self-funded by him as a Seasoned Unionist and Banker. He is among the five person aspiring for the candidateship of the national Democratic Congress (NDC) to contesting the 2024 general elections.

In recent times Jegun-Kukoo community, a suburb of Nanton has been battling with access to portable water just like many other communities and villages within the district. The borehole facility forms part of 100 borehole projects the Aspirant intends constructing across most communities within the district.

At a short ceremony to commission the borehole, the Aspiring Parliamentary candidate, Seasoned Unionist and Banker, Mr. Alhassan Adam (Nyab Adam) expressed his commitment towards improving the living conditions of the people of the Nanton constituency.



He indicated that, the borehole project is in fulfillment of a pledge he made to the people in the community who personally appealed to him about the water situation in the area during visibility visit to the area somewhere last year 2022.



“During my visibility tour, I promised the community that I was going to give priority to their water challenges after they personally appealed to me about the water situation in the area. And since I have challenged myself to resolving some of the water situation in this area among others”

“Water is becoming very difficult for the people of Nanton most especially our mothers, because taps are not flowing regularly, even if it does there has been an increment of water tariffs which makes it very difficult for the people to cope, hence the decision to provide the people with the boreholes to relieve them from suffering, he narrated.

Nyab Adam also indicated the Water-Life initiative was not only benefited by the people of Jegun-Kukoo but communities benefiting included Sindingu,Tampion, Looni and Nanto Boglini among others which were maintain after been abandon due faulty nature.

The NDC Parliamentary Aspirant thanked the Chiefs and people of these areas for their generosity and accepting him as a son of the land and assured them that more boreholes will be constructed to relieve residents most especially women who trek several miles in search of good drinking water.

On the maintenance culture, Mr. Alhassan Adam advised the community members to pay attention to the facility by putting it into good use.

On their part the residents of Jegun-Kukoo, thanked the Seasoned Unionist and Banker, Mr. Alhassan Adam (Nyab Adam) for the wonderful projects he has embarked upon to improve living conditions of people across the constituency, and prayed for him in his future endeavors.
