Strengthen The Healthcare Capacity to Deliver Quality Services - Nana Kweku ofori Atta

Healthcare is provided by the government and administered by Ministry of health.The government of Ghana must make it a priority to strengthen the Healthcare facilities in the country to improve the lives of the sick and aging population thus better health systems are necessities for a growing economy.

Recent observations across the country clearly indicates these better medical facilities are inadequate, completely missing, with some hospitals lacking some facilities and professionals to improve the service.

Sometimes we realize the best practices of health care delivery are not followed routinely or are delayed due to lack of specialist to attend to cases.

The government must assist the Ministry of health in providing Affordable Healthcare and put in appropriate measures in addressing the inadequacies of the Healthcare system. A recent example to draw conclusions from is the recent killing in winneba, where the victims have involved the police and the body needs an autopsy report, both the municipal hospital and the Truma hospital do not have pathologist to assist police’s investigations within the constituency, due to that, autopsy can not be done immediately until the body is conveyed to Cape Coast because there are no pathologist in their two main hospital to assist police investigations through autopsy.

This is very disheartening and Government of Ghana should intervene in the Healthcare to better the lives of Ghanaians.

Police service must be across regions down to the district should have their own Ambulance service to work with in times of emergencies, especially when there is accidents or murder cases.

Although the government of Ghana has been doing its best to improve the health sector, having these basic things will go a long way cushion a lot of Ghanaians when the need arise.

I am appealing to government to assist all our district hospitals with pathologist to assist enhance police investigations during murder cases .
