Evelyn Owusu Boateng, a fifteen-year-old JHS 2 student in the Sunyani Municipality, was electrocuted during a torrential downpour on Saturday.
Evelyn Owusu Boateng is a second-year pupil at the Roman Catholic Junior High School in Odumase, the district capital of Sunyani West in the Bono Region.
According to the deceased's father, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, Evelyn was alone in the house and about to prepare sustenance when rain, thunder, and lightning began. She went to her room and was later discovered incapacitated with cuts and burns all over her body, including her breast. Her mobile phone lay shattered next to her in the room.
She was rushed to Bono Regional Hospital, where physicians declared her dead. Doctors determined that she perished due to an electric shock.
