Akuffo-Addo Doesn't Even Pay Me A Pesewa As A Minister Of State - Oppong Nkrumah

Minister of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has refuted rumors that Members of Parliament who also serve as Ministers of State are compensated for their dual roles.

In a one-on-one discussion with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's morning program 'Kokrokoo,' the host stated, "The majority of ministers are members of parliament, and as such, they do not receive any additional compensation. On the compensation side, there is no additional cost to the taxpayer. In accordance with President Akufo-Addo's policy, I am not paid even GC1 as Minister of State. If you are a Member of Parliament who is also a Minister, you are paid from your MP salary."

He asserts that they "do not even receive a salary as ministers."

"When discussing the size of government, the majority of ministers who are also members of parliament do not receive additional compensation," he emphasized.
