All NDC's Upper West Parliamentary Candidates And Their Profession


The Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries have concluded, and over 11,000 Upper West Delegates have casted their ballots.

With the exception of former Member of Parliament for Lambussie, Edward Dery, who succumbed to Former General Secretary of Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Titus Beyuo, all incumbent Members of Parliament have retained their seats.

These are the NDC parliamentary candidates and their respective occupations.

Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo is a candidate for the Wa Central Constituency and is a teacher by profession. Prior to his appointment as a Member of Parliament, he was the director of the Issa Youth Leadership Training Institute.

Dr. Godfred Jasaw is the candidate for the Wa East parliamentary constituency. In 2020, he succeeded Godfred Tangu in the seat. Before moving to Parliament, he taught at the University of Development Studies, Wa Campus, in his capacity as a teacher.

Rt. Peter Lanchene Toobu is the Parliamentary Candidate for the Wa Wast Constituency. He defeated Mr. Joseph Yieleh Chireh in the 2019 Parliamentary Primaries and subsequently won the election. Since its separation from the Wa Constituency in 2004, he is the second representative for the Area. He was a former IGP secretary and a police officer.

Anthony Sumah is the Parliamentary Candidate for the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency; he succeeded Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin as Speaker of the House of Representatives. He was an Administrator at the Tumu Municipal Hospital prior to his election to Parliament.

Mohammed Sukparu, prospective Member of Parliament for Sissala West, is an Administrator. After winning the 2019 Parliamentary Primaries, he succeeded Mr. Patrick Adam and the New Patriotic Party in the seat he held previously. MBA in Corporate Governance graduate of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).


Bede Ziedeng is the Retained Parliamentary Candidate for the Lawra Constituency; he received 354 ballots from party delegates to secure this position. He succeeded Mr. Anthony Karbo, the former Deputy Minister of Roads, who is an attorney by profession.

Mr. Titus Beyuo resigned as Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association in order to run for the Lambussie Constituency seat, which he won with 443 ballots to his predecessor's 224. Dr. Beyuo practices medicine.

Dr. Richard Kuu-ire has been retained as the Parliamentary Candidate for the Nandom Constituency. Although he has previously challenged Lawyer Ambrose Dery for the seat, he has yet to succeed the current Interior Minister.


Dr. Sebastian Sandaare has been retained as the Dafiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency's Parliamentary Candidate; he is a medical doctor by profession and previously worked at the Lawra Hospital before transferring to Parliament.

The Jirapa Constituency retains Mr.

National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate Cletus Seidu Dapilah. Mr. Dapilah is a professional administrator.

Mr. Mohammed Issa Bataglia received 627 out of 878 votes to become the Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress in Sissala East. He is a Development Practitioner, Administrator, and Marketing Specialist from the Islamic University College.
