The police are searching for two individuals who allegedly accused a man of stealing GHC1,000 and then physically assaulted him, resulting in his untimely death.
According to the Nkawie Police, suspects Kofi Naasei and Kofi Ase, who are currently in concealment, stormed the home of deceased suspect Akwasi Kwaa, 32, around 2:00 a.m. and accused him of theft.
They allegedly bound him to a metal light pole and dragged him to Akataninse, where they continued to beat him until he perished.
Maame Yaa Aso, the sister of the deceased, begged them to hand over the suspect to the police, but Kofi Ase told her that they would murder him as they do all thieves.
The deceased was found dead in a prone position at Akataninse with a blue nylon rope around his neck and shoulder, an orange T-shirt dangling from his neck, and a plastic bottle by his side.
Multiple wounds were observed on the corpse, which was transported to Afari Community Hospital and placed in the morgue pending an autopsy.
All of the perpetrators fled the town after committing the heinous act, but police have indicated that they will be apprehended and subjected to the full force of the law.
