Ashaiman Soldier Murder ; 6 Suspects Face New Charges In Court

Suspects in the murder of an Ashaiman military man, Suspects in the murder of an Ashaiman military man,
Two defendants arraigned at the Ashaiman Circuit Court for larceny in connection with the murder of Imoro Sheriff, a soldier, were yesterday discharged based on the prosecution's request.

The court also exonerated four others charged with fraudulently receiving an item in connection with the same case.

Yesterday, when the six appeared in court for pretrial proceedings, the prosecutor, Superintendent Sylvester Asare, informed the court that the prosecution intended to retract the case and file a new charge sheet with the Tema District Court against the accused.

He stated that the first two suspects, Samuel Tetteh, also known as Wiper, and Abubakar Sadick, had already been charged with the alleged murder of Imoro in District Court.

Therefore, the prosecution asked the court to release the accused so that they could be transferred to the District Court to await the Attorney General's opinion on the case docket.

The attorneys for the four defendants charged with receiving stolen property, Abdul Fatawu Alhassan and Shiabu Mohammed, did not object to the prosecution's request.

Mr. Simon Gaga presided over the court that granted the petition and subsequently discharged the defendants.

Safianu Musah alias Dayorgu, Ibrahim Abdul Rakib, Yussif Mohammed, and Abdul Gafaru Abdul Karim are the four individuals who have been charged with receiving stolen property.

On March 4, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the prosecution claimed that Tetteh and Sadick fatally attacked Sherrif in Taifa, Ashaiman.

According to the prosecutor, the two men restrained the soldier and stole his iPhone, which Ibrahim then resold to Safianu for GH350.

Superintendent Asare stated to the court that Safianu claimed he sold the phone to Mohammed and Karim.

Sherrif was born and reared in Ashaiman, but was stationed in Sunyani, Bono Region, with the 3rd Infantry Battalion.
