Bawumia Was My Dependable Source During My Darkest Moments - Akuffo-Addo

The President of Ghana, Akufo-Addo, has praised vice president Mahamudu Bawumia for being a lieutenant he can rely on during his most difficult times.

Sunday, May 28, 2023, in an address to the nation on updates to Ghana's enhanced response to the coronavirus pandemic, President Akufo-Addo made special mention of his vice and expressed gratitude for the support he has provided.

President Akufo-Addo stated, "I must make special mention of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who was my reliable source of support in my darkest and most trying moments."

When Ghana was struck by the pandemic, he was also grateful to those who provided public and private advice.

"I'd also like to acknowledge the many people who gave me advice, both publicly and privately, as well as those who prayed for me.

The crisis is over. "Unfortunately, the aftermath is still very much with us, particularly in terms of the economic devastation it left behind," he said.
