Could It Be True? 75 Fadama Youth Accused Of Booing President Akufo-Addo To Benefit From Skills Training

The 75 Fadama Youth accused of booing President Akufo-Addo at the Global Citizens Festival held a week ago are to benefit from some skills training.

The skills training is to be sponsored by the immediate past Chief Executive Officer (CED) of the 3Music Awards, Baba Abdulai Saddique.

This comes in the wake of allegations that Baba Saddique recruited some boys to boo President Akufo-Addo.

President Akufo-Addo was booed at the Global Citizens Festival on Saturday, September 24, 2022, when he mounted the stage to address the crowd.

The crowd jeered the President amid a shout of ‘Away, away, away” to drum home their displeasure over the hardship in the country,

After this sad incident, some leading members of the President’s party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) went to town accusing the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of orchestrating the boos.

A leading member of the NPP, Hopeson Adorye alleged that the NDC paid GH₵120 Cedis each to the people who booed President Akufo-Addo at last Saturday's Global Citizens concert.

He explains that the NDC through Baba Abdulai Saddique, Larry Dogbey, Publisher of the Herald Newspaper and one Mr. Suhuyini organized 75 boys from New Fadama in Accra to boo the President.

However, reacting to this on last Saturday’s United Showbiz on UTV, Baba Saddique says no such thing occurred, adding that he is at a loss as to why Hopeson Adorye will single out boys from Fadama and disrespect them in the manner that he did.

For this reason, Baba Saddique, a Fadama born and bred, has promised to sponsor 75 boys from the area to acquire skills training.

“For the disrespect and insult, those 75 people that he has mentioned from Monday I am going to find in that constituency young 75 people because he thinks they are do-nothings.

“I will put them through training and that will be the foundation of the creation of a job and skills training center in the constituency, something that they’ve never been able to put up in my constituency,” he said.

Baba Saddique has recently resigned from his position as the CEO of 3Music Awards and rumours have it that he is gunning to contest for the Okaikoi Central Parliament seat in 2024 under the ticket of the NDC.

The Okaikoi Central Parliamentary seat is currently occupied by the NPP’s Patrick Yaw Boamah.
