Danger Ahead! Political War Between Ras Mubarak And Haruna Iddrisu Can Divide NDC

Ras Mubarak, a former member of parliament for Kumbumgu, has criticised Haruna, the minority leader of parliament, over the opposition National Democratic Congress district's upcoming internal elections.

In a Facebook post, Ras Mubarak, the lawmaker for Tamale South, professed his admiration for the minority leader.

The minority leader, according to the former member of parliament, is attempting to meddle in upcoming internal party elections in locations outside of his control.

"Those who believe they can sit in their respective seats and interfere with internal elections in other people's territories should reconsider." Haruna Iddrisu's disruption of the region has been seen with indifference by party elders. You inquire as to who represents Ras Mubarak in constituency elections. It is not intelligence, but cowardice," he noted.

Ras Mubarak warned Haruna Iddrisu not to interfere in Kumbumgu's internal party issues, hinting that such action would not be tolerated.

Others may choose to ignore it. I won't. I take no prisoners. The party is ours in its whole. You would remain in your district and conduct business there. You wish to manage NDC by deciding who receives what and where? Not in Kumbungu. He continued, "Leave Kumbungu alone and mind your own business, Mr. Minority Leader." Between 2017 and 2021, Ras Mubarak represented the people of Kumbumgu on the NDC ticket.

A considerable number of party stalwarts, including potential parliamentary candidates, are preparing to contest the NDC's internal elections. However, it is unclear whether the former congressman wants to run on the NDC platform in the 2024 general election.

Unlike the current New Patriotic Party, the National Democratic Congress has yet to organize branch-to-national elections for party officials.

The NPP, on the other hand, must now select a flagbearer and a parliamentary candidate before the 2024 general elections, as all previous internal elections have concluded.
