Dead Sspirit speaking to the living: The body of a 19-year-old girl refuses to be buried over unpaid dowry

Old men and women from the Luhya community have been involved to settle a tussle where the body of a young girl aged 19 could not fit in a grave despite necessary adjustments.

The young lady who died under unclear circumstances is stated to have been married for two years yet no dowry had been paid to her parents by his husband.

Her family is stated to have failed to cooperate in organising the burial involving their daughter until the dowry is paid according to traditions.

According to residents the coffin was made according to the required measurements but could mysteriously not fit in the dug grave.

In such instances, specific people are called upon to conduct rituals which aim at "calming" the dead.
