Effah Nkrabea Eulogies Tsatsu Tsikata

Captain (ret.) Nkrabeah Effah Dartey, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party, has praised renowned legal luminary Tsatsu Tsikata for his contribution to the advancement of his legal career.

In an interview with Maame Grace on Gerome TV, Effah Dartey revealed that Tsatsu Tsikata, his lecturer during his time as a law student at the University of Ghana, took a keen interest in his growth.

After years of arbitrary arrests and prison terms, Tsatsu Tsikata took him under his wing and trained him, according to the private attorney.

Additionally, Attorney Effah Dartey revealed his role in establishing the Ghana Petroleum Commission, where he labored for over a decade.

"I must express my gratitude to Tsatsu Tsikata, one of my law professors at Legon. Once I left the military, he took me under his wing and we worked together, as he was familiar with me and the issues I was facing. We established the Ghana National Petroleum Commission, where I labored for a decade. "I resigned to pursue a career as a private attorney," he explained.

Additionally, Nkrabeah Effah Dartey described how the late Jerry John Rawlings ordered his arrest in response to false allegations made against him.

Effah Dartey stated that his disdain for the National Democratic Congress stems in part from the treatment meted out to him by the Rawlings administration.

"On December 31, 1981, when Rawlings returned to office, I was in prison. I was released by Rawlings, and we worked together. I founded the National Investigations Committee and was tasked with questioning PNP ministers and recommending who should be prosecuted and who should be released. People complained to Rawlings that I was trustworthy, unable to be bribed, had excellent handwriting, and was too laid-back with the military.

"Rawlings grew tired of the complaints and issued a second warrant for my arrest. I was imprisoned, and after six months, I was informed that I was forced to retire as a lieutenant from the Ghana Armed Forces. I returned to the Ghana Law School and earned my degree in 1986.
