A former "Mentor" contestant was given a life sentence for manslaughter.

Bismark Ato Foster, a former
contestant on "Mentor," one of the most prominent reality television programs in Ghana, has been sentenced to life in prison for manslaughter.

After a trial in which prosecutors argued that he was responsible for the murder of one Razak Mohammed on September 26, 2016, he was found guilty.

Bismark was initially charged with second-degree murder, but the jury found him convicted of manslaughter after he pleaded guilty to both charges.

Foster was found guilty of homicide and the use of an offensive weapon by the jury after deliberations.

For the use of an offensive weapon, he was given a 25-year sentence, and both sentences are presently in effect.
