GHAMRO Responds To Akosua Agyapong Over Wild Accusations

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO), Abraham Adjatey, also known by his stage as Agya Abraham, has called some of the accusations made against them by one of their members, Akosua Agyapong, disappointing.

Akosua Agyapong was upset with GHAMRO for not helping the hardworking highlife singer financially while he was alive in relation to the passing of Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr.

She claimed in an interview with Adom FM that although Akwaboah Snr told the organization he was financially handicapped, he only received a modest GHS 250 via mobile money, which the late singer reportedly did not like.

She continued by describing Agya Abraham, the CEO, as a crook who is failing to carry out GHAMRO's mission to be a transparent royalty organization.

Agya Abraham responded to the charges on the same platform by unequivocally denying that he had ever received a call from the late Akwaboah Sr. asking money for medical care.

"Kwadwo was not someone who felt comfortable sharing his concerns with others. As claimed, I have never personally gotten a call from him. The sky, the earth, and the holy spirit will attest to the fact that this man has never complained to me or placed any demands upon me.

Agya Abraham claimed that Akwaboah Snr.'s vision impairment allowed him to have a separate portfolio where money could be transferred straight to him without going through the customary drawn-out process; as a result, there is no way he could have been paid in mobile money.

According to the CEO, Akosua Agyapong's unsubstantiated assertions are an insult to Akwaboah Jr.'s ability to take care of his father given his well-known background in the field.
