Ghanaian Man Age 57 Shot Dead In USA

According to his companion, Koffi Addo, a 57-year-old father, left Ghana at the age of 37 and, since his arrival in the United States, has worked two jobs to support his nuclear family and extended family back in Ghana.

During one of his occupations as a taxi driver in Somerset County, New Jersey, a client shot and killed him.

CBS News reported that local police verified the incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 18.

According to the report, someone entered a vehicle at Rose Street and Sydney Place in Franklin Township, confronted the driver, shot him, and then fled.

The son and fiancée of Addo stated that he immigrated to the United States from Ghana 20 years ago to improve his family's standard of living.

"My father was a very hardworking man who always minded his own business and believed in the American dream," Hubert Addo explained.

Kecia Banks said, "Now these poor children have no father and I have no boyfriend, and that was a wonderful man with whom I wanted to settle down for the rest of my life, and he's gone."

According to investigators, there may be multiple suspects. Anyone with information should contact the police.
