Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to inaugurate 2023 Green Ghana Day
For this year's exercise, the government has approved a budget of GH¢ 2.5 million.

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr. Samuel Abu Jinapor, made the announcement at a press conference in Accra on April 26. He stated that 10 million seedlings would be planted throughout the country.

Nationally, approximately 31 million seedlings have been planted, with an average survival rate of 81 percent in 2021 and 72 percent in 2022.

The Lands Minister urged all well-intentioned Ghanaians, including chiefs and queen-mothers, religious and faith-based organizations, civil and public servants, and students, to assist the Ministry in ensuring the success of this year's Green Ghana Day.

Mr. Benito Owusu-Bio, Deputy Minister of Lands in charge of Forestry, told the media that the country had so far secured 7.5 million seedlings and anticipated receiving the remaining 2.5 million from donors.

He stated that the Forestry Commission and the Mineral Commission each contributed three million seedlings, while the Plantation Fund Board, Rotary organizations, and churches contributed 500,000 and one million seedlings, respectively.
