Grade 5 pupil hospitalised after a beating by a teacher for not taking care of a new pupil

A grade five pupil from Ekerubo Gietai primary school in Nyamira county is currently recuperating at one of the hospitals in Kisii. The young kid is said to have been suffering from a broken shoulder which she sustained following a severe beating by one of her teachers.

According to the kid her teacher had given her the responsibility to take care of a new pupil who had come to the school, and she has been washing her clothes and other things for several days.

The teacher finally caught up with her and accused her of neglecting the new pupil, he beat the kid severely even on her shoulder breaking her. The kid is currently hospitalized and her mother has called for justice.
