Husband Who Murdered His Girlfriend And Injured In-law Remanded By Court

Teshie Nungua District Court has remanded to police custody a suspect identified as Isaac Newton Kumah, who is accused of murdering his 25-year-old wife in Nungua.

After she filed for divorce, he allegedly murdered his wife, Eunice Ameh Narh, and inflicted cutlass wounds on his wife's stepfather.

On Wednesday, May 3, the suspect was arraigned in court on charges of murder and causing unlawful injury.

In court, he pled not guilty to the second charge of causing unlawful injury to the stepfather of the deceased.

However, his plea for homicide was not heard because the court lacked the authority to hear such cases.

He is scheduled to return to court on May 22, 2023.

Michael Teye Narh, the father of the deceased, stated after the proceedings that he hoped the prosecutors would obtain a fair verdict for the family.

According to the family, the couple had been married for four years and had two children, a son aged three and a daughter aged one and a half.

Before filing for divorce from her violent spouse, Eunice allegedly endured a series of physical and mental abuses.

Following years of domestic abuse by her spouse, she reportedly moved in with her stepfather with the children.

Unhappy with the situation, the spouse reportedly took custody of their three-year-old son but consistently left him with others.

On Friday, April 28, Isaac Newton Kumah attacked the 25-year-old with a machete when she attempted to serve him with a letter from Legal Aid requesting custody of their 3-year-old son.
