I was Sued Heavily For Copyright Violations - EL

Elom Adablah, better known by his stage name E.L, a rapper and producer, disclosed that he was fined heavily after being sued for sampling the 'Efa Wo Ho B3n' choral composition.

The Ghanaian singer stated that the street slang he used in his new song titled "Chop Life" does not belong to anyone when speaking about an anthem he sampled in the song.

"As for that one, I used our street rhymes in my song, so it doesn't really belong to anyone, and my mother is a Ga native," he disclosed.

He stated, "Therefore, I believe I have the right to use some of our slang and our street anthem in my compositions, as it is something we grew up singing but nobody came to break our necks.

He stated on Cape Coast's Property FM, "I'm unsure if using such words in my song can get me in trouble, but the one that did was when I used Efa Wo Ho B3n."

"That one they sued me and I had to pay some heavy block, but it has taught me my lesson, so with the lines that I used in my Chop Life song, yawa no go come," he said in an interview with Amansan Krakye.
