It Is Unacceptable To Show My Real Face - Anas Replies Court

Anas Aremeyaw Anas the undercover reporter In response to a recent ruling by the Accra High Court, Anas has decided not to testify as a witness in the case against former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Anas was permitted to testify in open court while wearing a mask, on the condition that he disclose his identity to the defendant in the judges' chambers beforehand.

Tiger Eye P.I., the investigative firm headed by Anas, issued a statement announcing the decision, citing potential threats to his safety and security.

Tiger Eye said in a statement dated Thursday, May 18, 2023, "Anas is willing and ready to testify for the prosecution, but doing so under the conditions specified by the court poses a clear and present danger to his security and safety, particularly because of the issues outlined above."

The company emphasized that Anas's request for anonymity derived from his role as an undercover agent and the threat to his safety and security that revealing his identity would pose.

"It should be recalled that this case's main witness, Ahmed Hussein Suale, was murdered in broad daylight in 2019. "His assassination occurred on the same day he was scheduled to testify against the defendant in the above-described case before the Attorney General's office," the law firm said.

"Prior to his gruesome murder, the late Ahmed Suale had been threatened with death by Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi and had been subject to callous media attacks for his role as a star witness in the case, culminating in the revealing of his identity on national television and social media by Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, the MP for Assin-Central constituency," the firm added.

The company added that it supports Anas's stance because "it is proper and prudent to err on the side of caution in order to avoid any potential attack on another of its investigators."

"Tiger Eye's position is further bolstered by the unrelenting, coordinated, and well-funded media and other campaigns by private and state actors to undermine its operations and the Anas principle," the report continued.

However, Tiger Eye stated that it remains resolute in its struggle against corruption.

Nevertheless, Tiger Eye will continue to combat corruption and societal ills resolutely and relentlessly. Anas maintains a positive attitude and is appreciative to the people of Ghana for their support and protection.
