It Was A Plan, They Wanted Me To Lose My Seat - Muntaka

"We believed Asawase primary would be close, but Muntaka, the golden boy of Asawase, prevailed once again." We could not have sided with any of them because we wanted free and impartial elections, which is precisely what occurred. The former national chairman of the party had a challenger, and so did our candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

"So, if someone wishes to challenge a member of Congress, what can we do?" Those who wished to compete and complied with the rules and regulations were permitted, and the delegates made the determination. I cannot say that, as a region, we plotted and wished for his defeat; that is not possible, and we will not permit it. As a region, we had no intention of doing so," explained the NDC's Ashanti Regional 1st Vice Chairman.

According to Muntaka, some individuals within the party's leadership have been unsuccessfully conspiring to remove him from Parliament for some time.

Mohammed Muntaka told journalists, days after the party primaries, that the recent change in the Minority Leadership in Parliament was part of the larger plan.

"I can confirm that it was part of the plan to get me out." No politician will deny that this was part of the plan to oust me. Avedzi wasn't competing again, Haruna didn't have a challenger, and I was the only one with a challenger, so doing that was part of a strategy to get me out.

God, however, is not their village chief; God does not hate people because you dislike them.

Masawudu Mubarick posed a formidable challenge to Muntaka in the Asawase constituency parliamentary election.
