Just In : Why NDC'S Saturday Primaries May Be Postponed

Kojo Bonsu, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag-bearer candidate, is concerned about alleged irregularities in the party's voter register.

According to him, these alleged infractions have the potential to affect the primary election results.

pertaining to Saturday, May 13, 2023.

According to a petition lodged in an Accra High Court by Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, the party failed to provide the required photo album register five weeks prior to the elections, as stipulated in the party's rules.

He stated that his team received a partial photo album register on May 4, a few days before the election, as opposed to March, when they had requested one.

The former Minister of Finance requested that the party postpone its forthcoming presidential and parliamentary primaries scheduled for May 13.

Mr. Bonsu feels the same way. In an interview with OTEC FM in Kumasi, the former mayor of Kumasi stated that this will provide ample time to fix the issue with the party's electoral roll.

"They must postpone the election date and correct [the alleged errors in the album]," he said Tuesday night.

According to his estimation, if the party disregards this concern and moves forward with the May 13 election, it risks incurring additional legal actions.
