KTI Authorities Dismiss More Than 400 Students Over Misbehaviour And Rule Violations

More than 400 students at the Kumasi Technical Institute have been sent home for misbehaving and rule violations.

According to our news team, all of the involved students resided in the lodging house and allegedly caused damage to school property on May 17.

While school officials did not provide specific details about the incident, they emphasized that the action was taken to enforce school discipline. The Technical and Vocational Education Training Directorate has been provided with an official report on the students' conduct in order to take appropriate action.

According to the report, the affected students were absent from Friday's general assembly parade, during which a roll call was administered. Students were therefore instructed to pack their possessions and vacate the dormitories. Once recalled, they will be required to appear before the school's disciplinary committee.

The authorities will also meet with the parents of the afflicted students to provide them with additional information about the situation.

The majority of affected pupils have reportedly evacuated the school, while others are packing their belongings.

In response to the incident, the Manhyia Divisional Command Police Commander visited the school and addressed the remaining pupils, urging them to obey the law.
