Kennedy Agyapong Accuses Annoh Dompreh Of An Alledged Attempt To Sabotage His Presidential Ambition

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a candidate for the presidency of the New Patriotic Party, has disclosed that Frank Annoh Dompreh, the majority chief whip in parliament, allegedly attempted to sabotage his campaign.

According to the member of parliament for Assin Central, the whip is questioning the premise for some party chairmen throwing their support behind him because he is not qualified for the presidency.

"Do you know that the Majority Whip in parliament, Annoh Dompreh, has the audacity to call chairmen and tell them, 'You are supporting Kennedy Agyapong, but he is not presidential material?'" he asked.

Speaking to NPP delegates in the Ashanti Region, Kennedy Agyapong questioned the chief whip's justification for labeling him as unpresidential.

Kennedy Agyapong, promoting himself as a superior candidate, asserted that his history as a successful businessman demonstrates his ability to lead Ghana through development if he is elected flagbearer and then president.

He emphasized that he is the only candidate who has the best interests of the party's delegates at heart and who will devote himself to their welfare rather than bribe his way to victory.

The NPP has scheduled a flagbearer election for November 4, 2023, prior to the 2024 presidential election.

In the race, leading candidates include Kennedy Aggyapong, Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, and Alan Kyerematen.
