Kennedy Agyapong Offers Free Grader To Demolish Anas's Buildings Following Court's Order

According to reports, Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for the Assin Central constituency, has offered a grader to Adolf Tetteh Adjei, a businessman who has received a court order to demolish structures erected illegally on his property by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The court ruled that Anas's structures must be demolished to allow the landowner access to his legitimate property, as the structures were erected illegally.

In an interview with Okay FM on 19 May 2023, in response to the court's decision, Kennedy Agyapong's brother cum lawyer argued that Anas's actions constituted a criminal offense, stating that constructing on land that does not belong to an individual is illegal and that the MP has offered the businessman a grader for the demolition.

"It is a crime to steal someone's land and build on it, but can you just go and steal someone's land and build on it? It is a criminal offense, so the court was correct when they ordered him to demolish the structure. Ken has even offered to lend him a grader if he does not have one.

"He has assigned a grader to demolish the entire structure. You see, Anas took the law into his own hands as if he were a tin god, so while the case was pending in court, he used his own powers to build. But who are you, Anas? To construct on the land. And Adolf is also not an easy individual; he is a very formidable man... If he is listening to me, he should demolish the building...there was even an injunction, but Anas believed he was a metal deity, so he proceeded anyway, who is this dog?" He said

He went on to criticize Anas's conduct, alleging that he proceeded with construction while the court case was still pending.

By court order, a glass factory located in Tse-Ado, a suburb of Accra, and a set of apartments constructed and owned by Anas will be demolished.

A court recently ruled that the journalist continued construction on disputed land despite an order to halt the project until the land dispute was resolved.

Adolf Tetteh Adjei has been granted permission to demolish the structures and projects of Anas on the site, as a result of a definitive judgment on the land that did not rule in Anas' favor.

Justice Kwame Gyamfi Osei, who presided over the land dispute, awarded $100,000 to Adolf Tetteh Adjei, stating that the landowner should use the money for demolition rather than Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

As a result of the ruling, Anas reportedly made multiple attempts to negotiate with the landowner and pay for the land's entire value so that his factory and apartments would not be demolished.

However, Adolf Tetteh Adjei has stated that he is not interested in selling the land to Anas after the journalist used land guards and police to terrorize him for many years prior to his court appearance.

Accoriding to our sources, Anas worked with Chinese investors to construct the factory during a period when the land was in dispute.
