Former Director of Communications for the Presidency during the Atta Mills administration, Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has criticized former President John Mahama for winning the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential nomination election.
After the former President won by an overwhelming majority in the primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023, he characterized the victory as fake.
The Electoral Commission has certified that Mr. Mahama received 297,603 votes, which represents 98.9% of all valid votes cast.
His closest competitor, former Kumasi Mayor Kojo Bonsu, garnered a meager 3,181 votes, or 1.1%.
But unimpressed Anyidoho thanked God for Dr. Kwabena Duffuor's withdrawal from the contest.
He said
Prior to the primaries, the Founder and CEO of the Atta-Mills Institute verbally 'attacked' the National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and National Executives of the NDC, as well as former President John Mahama, who ultimately won.
In a Sunday morning tweet after the elections, he attributed Mr. Mahama's victory to a fraudulent voter registration list.
