My husband infected me with HIV/AIDS - Married woman painfully reveals

Nelly narrated how she learned that she was HIV positive after she heard rumours from the neighbours that her husband had an affair with a Positive lady.

After completing her college studies, she moved to the city where she secured a job. After one year she met her husband who later took her to the village.

Her husband changed after she gave birth to her first child. He started drinking alcohol and returning home late at night. After one month he lost his job due to alcoholism.

After one year she heard rumours from the neighbours who were gossiping about her husband saying that he had an affair with a single lady whose husband had died of HIV/ aids.

They could say that she was also Positive and they were counting the days for her. One of her friends disclosed the information to her and advised her to visit the hospital to know her status.

According to her during those times HIV was seen as a death sentence and people never wanted to associate with a sick person. She couldn't believe it when the doctors told her she was Positive.

She refused to take the drugs she was given which made her fall sick. She later agreed to take her meds left her husband and now lives with her child. She has urged couples to be faithful to each other to avoid infecting their partners.
