NDC Primaries : Dr. Kwabena Duffuor Withdraws Election Petition From Court

A high court in Accra was scheduled to hear the case today, 12 May 2023.

Dr. Duffuor wished to suspend the primaries due to alleged discrepancies his team discovered in the party's voter registration.

In a writ filed in an Accra High Court, Dr. Duffour indicated that a fragmentary photo album register provided to his team on May 4, 2023, by the party recorded the number of constituencies to be 220, as opposed to the alleged number of 228 constituencies currently indicated.

According to him, the authentication of the 220 electoral districts revealed fundamental errors and inaccuracies that render the Photo Album Register inaccurate and unreliable for free, fair, and credible elections.

Dr. Duffuor has requested a postponement of the elections until a complete photo album register is obtained, but this has not yet been granted.

In the meantime, the withdrawal implies that the primaries will proceed as planned and that the Electoral Commission will be able to oversee the election as anticipated.
