NPP Alledgely Accused Of Votes Buying Ahead Of Kumawu By-Elections

In the Sekyere Kumawu parliamentary by-election, the NPP is engaging in vote-buying.

The ruling NPP was captured on camera engaging in vote-buying in Sekyere Kumawu prior to the by-election.

As a result of the passing of Honorable Philip Basoah, the residents of Kumawu constituency in the Ashanti Region of Ghana will go to the polls on May 23, 2023 to elect a new member of parliament.

The NPP has chosen Ernest Anim to compete for the seat, while the NDC has chosen Kwasi Awankwaa.

Kwaku Duah, a former NPP member who went independent in 2020 and received over 10,000 ballots, is once again running for office.

To avoid losing their stronghold, the (NPP) is distributing materials to entice people to vote for them.

By-elections in Ghana are typically marked by voter apathy, but the NPP is doing everything possible to encourage their supporters to vote in order to retain the Sekyere Kumawu seat.
