NPP Will Remain In Power For The Next 30 Years

The former energy minister and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate has expressed interest in and a desire to assist the party in securing a 40-year hold on power.

Boakye Agyarko, who lodged his nomination early this morning, June 19, 2023, told NPP supporters gathered at the party office that the party must do more than just break the eight in order to maintain power.

"We must invigorate you; we must prepare you. We must make you happy in order for you to campaign for this party in 2024. If we do so, 2024 will be a certainty. I care about the party retaining power for the next forty years, not just for the next eight. Only by holding power for the next 40 years will we be able to transform this nation. It is the only way we can transform the country in the next 40 years," he said.

Thus, the flagbearer urged the members and supporters to work diligently to ensure the party's victory in the upcoming election and beyond.

"Forty years from now, I won't be here, but the party will," he continued. "We must build a strong party where you are comfortable and, most importantly, where you will be rewarded for your hard work."
