Nana Addo Had Issues Since Day One: A-Plus

The United Showbiz programme is a variety show in which famous panelists discuss and debate current topics in the country. Nana Ama McBrown, a renowned actress, hosts the show. Kwame A-plus and Lawrence Asiamah Hanson are two of the usual celebrity panelists (Bulldog).

On October 1st, they had a lot of topical problems to debate, and one of them was the incident involving Kirani Ayat versus the President of Ghana and the Ministry of Tourism.

An Overview of Kirani Ayat's Problems

Ayat is an upcoming singer who created a piece of music and a high-quality music video to promote Ghana, particularly the northern region of the country, as a location of serenity. Guda is the name of the song.

Ayat goes on to say that in 2018/2019, he approached the Ministry of Tourism about collaborating with them by using his song and music video.

His applications were not successful at the time, but he discovered in 2022 that a part of his content was being used on the official Twitter handle of Ghana's President, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo. As a result, he chastised the Ministry on social media.

This has been Nana Addo's issue since day one, according to A Plus.

In his reaction, Kwame A-plus sided with Kirani Ayat. For starters, he had worked in the music industry and thus understood how copyright and royalties functioned.

He further stated that even the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mark Okraku-Mantey, would be upset if part of his music was utilised without his consent.

Second, he stated that the President has had a specific issue since day one.

The issue was that he relied on agencies that did not exercise due care when it came to completing tasks involving plagiarism and copyright.

A-Plus cited the President's inauguration speech, which was reportedly copied from George Bush's inauguration speech in 2001.

Kwame A-Plus concluded his remarks by saying that the chiefs of the Ministry of Tourism had no right to be angry with Kirani Ayat because Ayat had the opportunity to take them to court but chose not to, instead calling them out on social media.
