Okyeame Kwame Explains Why Lord Kenya Once Tied Him To Bed

On April 26, 2020, Okyeame Kwame described how Lord Kenya and his team bound him to a bed on the night of the school rap battle.

This was an attempt by Lord Kenya to prevent Okyeame Kwame from attending the competition so that he could be "the only dope rapper of the night," according to Okyeame Kwame.

Below is the complete GhanaWeb article that was published on April 26, 2020.

Rapper Okyeame Kwame, a graduate of Kumasi Anglican Secondary School (KASS), claims that his former classmate Lord Kenya, who is now an evangelist, bound him to a bed one Saturday night when they were in high school.

The action was carried out with the assistance of Lord Kenya's friends in order to prevent Okyeame Kwame from performing at the school's entertainment event that evening so that Lord Kenya would be the sole performer and consequently claim honor.

Okyeame Kwame stated in a Facebook post to join the #ThrowbackThursday trend that the incident in question occurred 28 years ago.

This photograph was shot in 1992. I was in KASS form five. Saturday evening was filled with entertainment. I recall that prior to this performance, Lord Kenya and his crew bound me to my bed so that he would be the only dope rapper for the evening," the post stated in part.

Rapper Kwame Nsia Apau, whose real name is Kwame Nsia Apau, added that Lord Kenya's plot was foiled because his [Okyeame Kwame] friends freed him after Kenya and his team departed to perform in the dining hall.

He wrote: "Kenya and his sons were tall, strong, and untamed. My children and I were small and timid. We waited for them to depart my dorm, at which point I was untied and rushed to D hall. My rap, which was written by my rap instructor @PowerfullaudMarcus, began as soon as I seized the microphone. @plm "Cocaine, like Cain, will cause you pain." Stop using narcotics because they will lead you to using rugs. Too much abortion is an abomination, and contraception is occasionally deceptive. Then they whole school went like 'yeeeeeeeeeeeeeey'".
