Oppong Nkrumah Clarifies Gov't Intentions On 16 Flagship Programs

In March of last year, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah clarified the government's intentions regarding 16 flagship programs.

In an interview on Ekosii Sen on Asempa FM, the Minister clarified that the programs will be reviewed and not canceled, contrary to allegations by some news websites.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah reportedly stated that sixteen government hallmark programs will be terminated.

"Each of the 16 flagship programs will be evaluated"

The President has ordered that the flagship programmes be safeguarded and completely implemented to ensure their effectiveness.

"If we are required to rescope a particular flagship program due to the budgetary constraints we face, we will do so and see how much we can accomplish,"

"Only that the President has set the red line that we will not compromise on the fiscal consolidation agenda," he explained on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen. "Our real problem over the years has been an out-of-control deficit from year to year."
