Otumfuo Ahenenanom Hene Slams NPP Government

The Otumfuo Ahenenanom Hene, Nana Kwame Mensah-Bonsu, has lamented the lack of progress made by the New Patriotic Party-led (NPP) government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He claimed that the NPP's infrastructure performance in the Ashanti Region has been appalling.

The NPP is well-established in the area, and although much more is expected of the party in terms of regional development, so far nothing has happened.

In response to complaints about the lack of development in the area, Nana Mensah-Bonsu, a sub-chief of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, noted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which receives relatively few votes in the Ashanti Region, has carried out more projects there than the NPP administration.

The Ahenenanom Hene said Nana Addo's regime is the worst he has ever seen when speaking to a journalist on the 'For The Records' program, speculating "whether the president had any education."

Since entering politics, has Akufo-Addo attended school? Who is his classmate? With whom did he attend law school? With whom did he attend the university? The Ashanti Region has not received any projects from him.

"Please contact the NDC and the NPP so they may come and give an explanation for what they did in the Ashanti Region. We are not naive. Today we can see that it is pouring and the ground is wet, whereas yesterday we were blind," he said.

A list of projects initiated by the John Mahama administration was provided by Otumfuo Ahenenana, including the Sofoline Interchange in Kumasi, which Nana Addo was unable to finish.
