Parts of Techiman were inundated following a heavy downpour.
Following a heavy downpour, portions of Techiman in the Bono East Region were left inundated.

The chaos on Thursday, April 27, 2023, began at 4:00 pm and lasted until 9:00 pm.

The five hours of inundation stranded the majority of residents and motorists.

At Ahembroniso, 42 dwellings, six light poles, and a school block were damaged by the rain, whereas Sansama, Ahenfie, Anyinabrem, Abanimu, and other suburbs of the Techiman South Municipality were severely affected.

Some residents who spoke with this portal expressed concern that they may loose their farm produce because they are unable to transport it to markets.

Mr. Yussif Issaka, according to Mr. Eric Aseidu, Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for Techiman South, met an untimely end due to the torrential downpour.

However, he commended the Techiman Municipal Fire Command for their heroism as they performed two distinct rescues during the downpour.

DO III Henry Esson, the municipal fire chief of Techiman, urged the community to alter its approach to managing natural disasters.

He stated that depositing trash in the gutter contributes to flooding.
