Peter Amewu Makes Bold Decision ; Finally Publicly Endorses Alan

In an unexpected turn of events, former Energy Minister John Peter Amewu has publicly endorsed Alan Kyerematen for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential nomination.

Peter Amewu, the current Minister of Railways, expressed his support for Alan Kyerematen's presidential ambitions during a gathering in his presence.

During his speech, Amewu disclosed that during the previous presidential election, despite Kyerematen being his Godfather, he declined to work with him and instead supported Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the position of president.

"When Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was running for president in 2016, we in the Volta Region of the NPP knew he would win... Alan approached me at the time to work with him, and as most of you are aware, he is my godfather... I told him, "Alan, I am unable to work for you because you must consider what is best for Ghana at the present time."

Amewu continued by emphasizing the significance of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's leadership in Ghana in 2016, not only for the NPP but for the entire country. He stated, "...What was better at that time was not just for the NPP, but the entire country of Ghana in [2016] demanded Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as its leader."

The railway development minister further expressed his support for Alan Kyerematen by stating that "in Ghana today, it is not just the NPP party that is solidly behind Alan Kyerematen, but the entire country."

The former Energy Minister's support carries significant weight within the NPP.
