Police Inspector Who Killed Girlfriend Has Been Suspected of Suffering From Mental Illness

Police inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who fatally shot his fiancée Maadwoa multiple times, is suspected of suffering from mental illness.

Emmanuel Mawanye Kotin, executive director of the African Center for Security and Counterterrorism, ascribes his uncontrollable behavior to the intensity of the police work.

Numerous police officers, including Ahmed Twuamsi, may have been combating severe mental health issues, as the expert emphasized that many officers do not seek therapy or assistance.

Mr. Kotin believes that a man in his right mind would be incapable of understanding why he would shoot and murder his girlfriend.

The suspect, Ahemd Twumasi, appeared in court today and stated, among other things, that he murdered his fiancée because she owed him GHc5,000.

On May 30 he is scheduled to reappear in court.
