Police allegedly beat up a guy so badly he was hospitalised for 2 days

Police are enforcers of the law. They are charged with protecting it, enforcing it and arresting those who break it.

What happens then when the police are the ones who break the law? What happens when they are the ones who hurt those they are supposed to protect?

"Sundown Town. Don't go here. Avoid it if you are driving through. The police beat up my brother till he became unconscious, they broke bones in his face, tased him in the head and knocked five of his teeth out. He is still alive to tell his story and it will be told."

The young man's sister shared pictures of his injuries and screenshots where their mother share details of the assault. The young man and his girlfriend were allegedly approached by a group of police but fled when told to get out. They then surrendered at a filling station where the young man was tasered. He then woke up in the hospital.
