Prez Akuffo-Addo Has Nothing Good To Offer Ghanaians - John Mahama

"Akufo-Addo is finished with you"Don't expect miracles – Mahama tells Ghanaians

Former President John Dramani Mahama has criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and President Nana Akufo-Addo for their repeated assurances that the economy will be revived by the end of 2024.

According to Mr. Mahama, nothing else will result from the remaining year and a half of the Akufo-Addo administration, and anyone who believes otherwise must be fantasizing.

The former president told National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates in the Wa East constituency in the Upper West Region that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot change Ghana's fortunes in the remaining one and a half years before it leaves office.

According to him, since the NPP has been in power for nearly seven years, it has nothing new to offer. He advised Ghanaians not to expect marvels from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

"We have witnessed the NDC's administration; after Professor Evans Atta-Mills, I succeeded him for a total of eight years. And we have had NPP for nearly seven years.

They have one and a half years left, and nothing miraculous will occur. They will not be able to add anything to what they have already accomplished. Therefore, anyone who believes a miracle will occur is fooling himself and fantasizing. Mr. Mahama stated, "What you have is all there is, there will be nothing more."

"Therefore, anyone who believes in a miracle is simply fooling himself and daydreaming."

The former president stated, "What you have is all that will ever exist; there will be no more."

Mr. Mahama, who is attempting a comeback, stated, "In 2016, Ghanaians can see through all the lies and propaganda they spread."

"Ghanaians are suffering more than they did in 2016," he remarked.

Mr. Mahama continued, "Almost no one makes a profit from their labor."

"I can confidently assert that our lives were significantly better in 2016 than they are today," he declared.

The government is currently negotiating with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a $3 billion aid to help restore the ailing economy at the time of Mahama's remarks.

In addition, the government has implemented policies and programs designed to restore macroeconomic stability and debt sustainability.

The government has expressed its desire to obtain financing guarantees from the Paris Club as quickly as feasible in order to qualify for $3 billion in IMF assistance. The Deputy Minister of Finance, John Kumah, confirmed that discussions with the IMF regarding the bailout assistance have been fruitful.

The criticisms by Mahama of the NPP's ability to revitalize Ghana's economy are made in the context of an ongoing discussion about the country's economic future.
