Prez Akufo-Addo Praised For The Appointment Of Torkornoo As Chief Justice

The Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Council applauds Akufo-Addo's appointment of Justice Torkornoo as Chief Justice

Obrempong Nyanful Krampah XI, President of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, praised President Akufo-Addo's appointment of Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo as the prospective Chief Justice to succeed Justice Anin–Yeboah.

If Parliament approves her nomination, Justice Torkornoo will occupy the position of Chief Justice.

Wednesday at a press briefing at Gomoa Ajumako in the Central Region, the Omanhene stated that the nomination of Justice Torkornoo does not come as a surprise to the chiefs and people of Gomoa and Effutu, as the community was her origin.

According to him, Justice Torkornoo ascended the judicial ladder from the lower courts to the Court of Appeals before her appointment to the Supreme Court by the government in 2019.

Therefore, it is not surprising that the President sees her as the ideal replacement for Justice Anin–Yeboah, who is scheduled to retire on May 24, 2023, said the paramount chief.
