RIP: 38-year-old boyfriend killed 19 years old girlfriend and cut her body into pieces and put her in a bag

Evidence of a gruesome murder surfaced on social media and left people in disbelief in the comments section after they learned what happened.

A 38-year-old man was detained by Mpumalanga police after it was claimed that he was seen pulling a cart that had a woman's body wrapped in a bag.

Police said the guy was apprehended at the Barberton dump where he was reportedly planning to dispose of the body of the 19-year-old victim.

Social media reports said that the woman's body had been "cut into pieces."

A few women noticed the man while he was dragging a trolley that appeared to be too heavy for him, said Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, a spokesperson for the Mpumalanga police.
At a stop sign, the women flagged down a taxi driver and asked him to help them look into the matter. The bag dropped off the trolley when the suspect noticed them. One of the concerned bystanders allegedly found a woman's body inside the bag after opening it, according to Mohlala.

He claimed that after community people attacked the suspect, police were called.

The suspect was saved from the enraged throng by officers who were able to calm the situation. He was taken to the hospital for treatment while being held in custody, according to Mohlala, after being detained.

He stated that a post-mortem would be performed and that the reason for the death and its cause were still under investigation.
Police inquiries into the incident went on in the interim.
