Reasons why true love is hard to find these days

Many of us believe in true love. That is finally finding someone who will love you for who you are, stay with you through the difficulties and support you to improve yourself.

Some others, however, believe true love is hard to find and honestly they may not be far from the very truth.

True love is hard to find especially in our generation where even the smallest things can lead to breaks ups. Why is true love hard to find?

This article is my opinion on why I think true love is hard to find these days.

Past Experience

I cannot get enough of saying this every day. Our past experiences have influenced our feelings and emotions and desires when it comes to love these days. People are just not the same.

Almost all of us are on our healing journeys and feel so exhausted to start another love affair.

Not just that, there is the kind of people who wouldn't heal and still go on ahead to hurt someone else.

We can't find true love because we almost cannot forget and move on from the relationships that almost destroyed us, we become bitter and get illuded that true love does not exist.



Growth

True love is hard to find these days because people refuse to start a journey of finding themselves. People are afraid of growth in all aspects, emotional, psychological, social and even financial growth.

People forget that you can only truly love someone if you have loved yourself first. Finding yourself is understanding who you are and your purpose.

When you are fulfilled, you won't get into a relationship for what you'll get or what the person has to offer, you'll go into a relationship with the idea of forever.

You're settling

You don't expect to find something better when you have refused to leave the relationship that is not working for you. To compromise is to meet someone halfway but to settle is to be afraid to leave your comfort zone.

For example, My partner has been a pain in the neck all through our relationship which makes me very unhappy but I don't want to leave because I don't think there's no someone better for me out there.

Choices

Our choices play the biggest role when it comes to finding true love for ourselves. We are all about physicality.

We have specks and features we are looking for so even if we find someone who genuinely loves us, we brush them aside because they are not our specks.

Do not get me wrong, it's perfectly okay to have certain qualities you may want in your man or woman but finding true love is more than physical qualities but internal qualities too. Ironically, the people who can give us true love are the people who are not our specks and types.

Social Media

Thanks to Instagram, Twitter Facebook and the likes, we have all lost touch with the most real things.

We have exchanged our realities for fantasies and nothing can snap us out of it. It is like we are hypnotized by fake living there.

We can only find true love when we understand that love is not what is portrayed on our screens of six packs and flashy cars and all of that. We can find true love if we desist from comparing our partner's efforts in the relationship to some fake instal couple goals.
