Sam George Lambast NIA Over Double Card Registration

It's a Crime – Sam George Challenges the NIA Regarding Ghana Card Double Registration.

Sam George is the member of parliament for Ningo Prampram. George has criticized the National Identification Authority (NIA) for failing to exercise due diligence in the registration of SIM cards for the Ghana Card, the country's identification card.

Sam George has described the situation as a violation of personal data, which is a criminal offense, in light of allegations that some Ghana Cards were connected to multiple SIMs.

According to him, in addition to the fact that these SIMs could be used by unidentified individuals to conduct crimes behind the backs of Ghana Card holders, they could also be used to sow discord among the populace without their knowledge. This is a compromise of personal information.

"In order to register a SIM card, your biometrics, including your face, must be obtained," he explained."I went through all of that, so if SIM cards have been registered without your knowledge, it means that your biometric data and facial details are accessible to whoever used it to register a SIM card; what else can they do with your biometric data?" Sam George carried on.

The member of parliament also accused the NIA of incompetence for failing to authenticate the Ghana Card information of registered citizens in order to ensure the data used was authentic. In addition, he defied them to refute his claims if they had followed the proper procedures and collected data with due diligence.

"From day one, I stated that this process was flawed, and individuals accused me of engaging in partisan politics.

Because I stated that you are squandering your time if you register SIM cards without being able to cross-reference the information presented to you with the NIA's central database, he said."Allow me to disclose on this platform.

The NIA has not verified any of the biometric information or SIM cards that they claim to have registered.

They have not cross-referenced any of the registrations that they claim to have completed with the NIA.

The NIA has not confirmed that the Ghana Card details claimed to have been used to register the SIM card are authentic data in its possession.
